Diversity is ‘otherness’ or those human qualities that are different from our
own and outside the groups to which we belong yet are present in other
individuals and groups. Important to distinguish between primary and secondary
dimensions of diversity.
Primary includes aspects such as age, race, gender, disability etc while
secondary dimensions are those that can be changes and include; educational
background, geographical location and marital status amongst others. Further

One Government agency in the province of Saskatchewan in Canada recognises
diversity in the workplace as referring to “all of the characteristics that
make individuals different from each other. These differences can include
factors such as race, ethnicity, gender, or having a disability.” Further
