Diversity Works
The aim of this Development Partnership is to develop a diversity management process that fits easily within existing local, national and European quality management excellence models. As part of the project Diversity Works will examine the different forms of discrimination relating to men, women, black and ethnic minority communities, people with disabilities, carers and the lesbian/gay/bisexual and the transgendered community as well as others affected by social exclusion.
There are five main objectives:
- To explore the use of diversity management processes in Northern Ireland and to gather examples of good practice researching multiple identity {that is belonging to more than one community of interest}, long term unemployment and their relationship with the needs of employers;
- Develop and pilot a diversity management process with a SME, statutory body and a community/voluntary sector organisation
- Disseminate innovative practice, processes and programme outcomes; and
- Work within a transnational partnership on the usage of diversity management processes in Europe and their potential transferability.
